We continue to strive to improve your member experience here at Orlando City Soccer School Seminole. With that in mind, Orlando City Soccer School - Seminole is proud to announce the implementation of a newly revamped College Advisory Program (CAP). The OCSS-Seminole CAP program is an in-depth player focused program that gives our players the support, services, and resources needed to maximize their success whether you plan to play in college or not. Our goal is to find the right fit for all our student athletes.
Leading the CAP program will be our College Liaisons Derrick Smith and Trent Frederick. Derrick rejoined Orlando City during the 2020-2021 season and was an integral part in getting the College Services off the ground for our Orlando City players. Coach Derrick is currently an assistant coach at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fl. and along with his numerous connections to a network of college coaches, he has helped many players move on to continue their careers at the NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and Juco levels. Derrick will be the primary point of contact for the girls’ side of our program and will also assist with the Sr. Boys' Program.
Also joining the CAP program this season is Trent Frederick, who joined OCSS-Seminole prior to the 2021-2022 season. Coach Trent has been in the Orlando area since 2007 and is excited to be back working with Orlando City. Trent is also an assistant coach at Eckerd College, after spending several years coaching college in the Midwest. He has also been instrumental in helping players continue their careers with his connections on a National and Regional level. Trent will be the primary point of contact for the boys’ side at OCSS and will assist with the Sr. Girls’ Program.
The CAP program will be utilizing MATCHFIT® by The Sport Source® as its college platform. MATCHFIT® is a powerful smart-search platform that will make it easier for our athletes to better connect with their best college matches.
In addition to the implementation of MATCHFIT®, the CAP program will offer college recruiting information nights, zoom call and in-person sessions with college coaches, college exposure camps, one-on-one meetings, and a yearly academic timeline to make sure all of our players stay on track for admission to the college of their choosing.
